Hey everyone! My Sedona Lace 12 Piece Professional Makeup Brushes Set in the color pink arrived last week... so I wanted to do a quick overview on the brushes! First of all, I first saw this set of brushes through Jen fromheadtotoe. She used this brush set a lot for her makeup tutorials! I've always wanted to get this pink brush set, but it was out of stock for the longest time! There are other "better quality" Sedona brushes on their website... but I couldn't resist but getting the PINK! The handles are baby pink/peachy color with black bristles. The twelve brushes comes in a pink brush holder~ really cute! The cost of this set is $59.95 which is a lot cheaper than my Sigma Brush Kit... which cost over $100. I saw that the quality of the Sedona brushes and Sigma brushes were about the same! I recommend these brushes especially for those that are now starting makeup since this set has all the brushes you will need (from face to eye makeup).
So here is a picture of the Sedona Lace 12 Piece Professional Makeup Brush Set!
Powder Brush ♥ - Love this brush! I've used it twice already. The bristles are dense which pics up a good amount of my mineral powder to apply on my face. The more dense the bristles are, the more product it will pick up (for more coverage). The bristles are also super soft! I really like the size of this brush because it's pretty big which allows me to apply the powder on my whole entire face quickly.
Duo Fibre Brush ♥ - This is a great brush to use to apply your liquid foundation. It gives you an "airbrush finish". I don't use any liquid foundations, so I won't really be using this brush.... but I will be using this brush for my makeup clients! Currently I'm using my Sigma one for my clients, but I know that this brush will be just as good because they are almost identical! The bristles are super soft too! I like the Sedona one a little more since it's PINK hehe ^^
Angled Blush Brush ♥ - This brush has white bristles which are also very soft and dense. It's angled so it's great to use when you are applying blush or bronzer onto your cheeks. Also works great to contour! As you can see, it's almost identical to the Sigma one. It's made of natural bristles!
Foundation Brush ♥ - I used this brush when I applied alittle bit of foundation last week. I usually don't wear any liquid foundation, but I had to apply alittle bit to cover up my acne for my maternity photoshoot. The bristles are super soft, spread the foundation evenly across my face, and it didn't leave any streaks.
Shadow Brush ♥ - YAY! I've been needing a shadow brush for the longest time! The sigma shadow brush that I've been using for over a year got really stiff for some reason. This shadow brush is the perfect size to apply shadow onto your lids (especially for asian eyes because the size is pretty small). The bristles are dense so it picks up a good amount of shadow too! If the bristles are not dense, it won't pick up as much color.
Tapered Blending Brush, Large Shader Brush, Angled Shader Brush ♥ - Here are three eye makeup brushes! The blending brush does a great job blending out harsh lines. It's not huge like some of the other blending brushes, so it's great for asian eyes (since we tend to have smaller lids). The bristles are soft and dense too! The large shader brush is a lot bigger than the shadow brush that I showed you before. It is a great size though to pack on color to the lids. The angled brush is great to use to highlight the brow bone. The bristles are not as dense, so it doesn't pick up a whole lot of color (which is perfect for the brow bone because you wouldn't want it to be too noticeable).
Pencil Brush, Eyeliner Brush, Small Angled Brush ♥ - I absolutely LOVE the pencil brush. The sigma pencil brush that have is tapered, but this one is just flat. Instead of using this to add color to my outer v area, I use it to blend out my shadows. Since I'm asian and have small lids, I always have trouble finding a good small blending brush. I used this brush to blend out my harsh shadow line, and it worked great! The eyeliner brush is really thin and small. I wouldn't use this to apply my gel eyeliner, but instead I would use this to line my lower lashline (I usually use black eyeshadows to line my lower lashline). I used the small angled brush to apply my MAC blacktrack fluidline gel eyeliner, and it worked great! Love it! It's not TOO thin like my mac eyeliner brush, so I can draw my line with just one sweep!
Concealer Brush ♥ - Last but not least... the concealer brush! I actually like this more than my sigma concealer brush! It's really small and it's a mini size version of the foundation brush. This brush is great to use to apply concealer or foundation around your eyes and nose.
Eye Primer ♥ - I also tried this eye primer from Sedona! It works great! It cost $10 (which is a lot cheaper than the Urban Decay Primer Potion that I always use). The texture is light and it's a light cream color. It's easy to blend and apply onto my lids. The picture on the bottom right is a picture of some swatches that I did with the same eyeshadow. The light purple is a swatch I did with NO primer under it, and the dark purple is a swatch that I did on top of the Sedona primer. Using an eye primer does make a HUGE difference. It makes the color more vibrant and helps the shadows to stay on your eyes longer throughout the day.
